A man known only by his nickname, Alligator, tragically lost his life while assisting in the loading of a bulldozer onto a low-bed trailer at Ejisu on Thursday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during a routine transport operation at a construction site. Alligator, who was standing on top of the trailer and guiding the driver, reportedly slipped and fell after the trailer’s brakes suddenly failed. The massive bulldozer rolled forward, crushing him beneath its weight.
Bystanders rushed to the scene but were unable to save him.
“He was an experienced hand. He had done this many times before,” one eyewitness told reporters. “But when the trailer shifted, he had no chance. It all happened in seconds.”
Alligator was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been conveyed to the Ejisu Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The Ejisu District Police Command has begun investigations into the incident to determine whether mechanical failure, negligence, or lack of safety protocols contributed to the tragedy.
“We are looking into every aspect of the incident, including the condition of the trailer and whether safety guidelines were followed,” a police source confirmed.
The incident has sparked concern among locals and construction workers in the area, with many calling for stricter safety enforcement at work sites.
As of now, the identity of the company overseeing the transport has not been made public.
