The Minority Caucus in Parliament has criticised the Government’s 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, describing it as lacking substance and failing to address the country’s key economic and social challenges.
Addressing the Parliamentary Press Corps in Accra, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, the Member of Parliament for Karaga, said the budget was “heavy on rhetoric but light on delivery,” arguing that the Government had focused more on political messaging than concrete policy interventions. He alleged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration continued to engage in propaganda and blame-shifting instead of addressing pressing national concerns.
Dr Adam contended that the budget did not provide credible measures to create jobs or improve the welfare of Ghanaians, adding that the Government’s approach remained disconnected from the realities facing ordinary citizens. He said the Minority believed the Mid-Year Budget offered no meaningful solutions to the country’s economic challenges and pledged that the Caucus would continue to demand accountability and practical policies to improve livelihoods.
