Immigration officers have rescued a young woman, identified as Fearing Ive Blessing, from a brutal assault at Wassa Asikuma in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region.
Reports say the victim was attacked by a woman alleged to be running a sex trade operation after she decided to quit the business. The suspect, angered by her decision, reportedly inserted pieces of paper into the victim’s private parts, mouth, and other parts of her body before physically assaulting her.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment.
Officials from the Ghana Immigration Service have confirmed the rescue, adding that the suspect is in custody and assisting with investigations.
