The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper Denkyira East Constituency has begun a new phase of rebuilding its structures, following the successful election of new constituency executives.
The newly elected leaders have pledged to prioritise unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation as key strategies towards reclaiming the parliamentary seat in the 2028 general election.
Speaking to the media after the declaration of results, the Constituency Chairman, Nana Mensah, described the election as a victory for the entire party and commended delegates for ensuring a peaceful, transparent and orderly process.
He said the conduct of the election demonstrated the democratic values of the NPP and reflected members’ commitment to putting the collective interest of the party above individual ambitions.
Nana Mensah urged both successful and unsuccessful aspirants to unite and focus on the bigger task ahead, stressing that the real contest was the 2028 general election.
He noted that internal party elections should serve as a means of strengthening the party rather than creating divisions, and called on members at all levels to work towards rebuilding party structures and reconnecting with the grassroots.
The newly elected Constituency Secretary, Mr Alhassan Yakubu, pledged to improve the administrative systems of the party and ensure effective coordination among executives and members.
He said the new leadership would work to restore confidence among supporters, deepen engagement at the grassroots level and build a strong political force capable of winning back the parliamentary seat.
The Second Vice Chairman-elect, Alhaji Osman, also called for unity and teamwork among party members, promising to collaborate with other executives to promote discipline and harmony within the constituency.
He said the success of the party depended on the collective efforts of all members, adding that a united NPP would be better positioned to regain the confidence of voters.
The peaceful completion of the constituency executive elections has been described by party supporters as a significant step towards rebuilding the NPP’s fortunes in Upper Denkyira East, with attention now shifting to preparations for the 2028 elections.
