The Church of Pentecost, Denkyira Kyekyewere District, has donated hospital supplies and building materials worth about GH¢8,000 to the Adwumam Clinic in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.

The donation formed part of the Church’s social intervention initiatives aimed at supporting community development and complementing government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery, especially in underserved areas.

The District Pastor, Pastor Jacob Atta Arthur, led the presentation of the items, which included 20 bags of cement to support the construction of a toilet facility for the clinic, as well as assorted toiletries and other essential medical items.

Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, the Officer-in-Charge of the Adwumam Clinic, Mr Enock Teye, expressed appreciation to the Church for the timely support.

He said the intervention came at a crucial time when the facility was facing challenges in meeting the growing healthcare needs of residents within its catchment area.

Mr Teye noted that the items would contribute significantly to improving sanitation, enhancing the clinic’s operations and promoting quality patient care.

He appealed to corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations, philanthropists and other faith-based institutions to support the facility, adding that despite the commitment of health workers, the clinic continued to face infrastructural and logistical challenges.

The Queen Mother of Denkyira Adwumam, Nana Yaa Amankra II, also called on the government and development partners to support the expansion of the clinic to enable it to adequately serve the increasing population in the area.

She disclosed that the facility currently provides healthcare services to about 3,000 people from five surrounding communities, putting pressure on its existing infrastructure and resources.

Nana Yaa Amankra II appealed for financial support to complete the clinic’s maternal block, explaining that the project would improve maternal healthcare services and provide safer conditions for expectant mothers.

She further appealed for additional hospital beds, medical equipment and other logistics to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

The intervention by the Church of Pentecost highlights the contribution of faith-based organisations towards national development, particularly in healthcare and community welfare.

Residents of Adwumam have welcomed the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to efforts to improve healthcare services in the area.
