Residents of Twifo Ongwaso in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region have appealed to the Government to extend electricity to the community and improve mobile network connectivity to enhance socio-economic development.
They said the absence of electricity and poor telecommunications services continued to impede economic activities, education, healthcare delivery and emergency response in the area.
The appeal was made during a visit by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Mr Isaac Yawson, who was inspecting ongoing road improvement works in the community.
While commending the DCE for the road intervention, the residents stressed that access to electricity and reliable mobile network services remained a critical development priority.
They appealed to the DCE and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Twifo Atti-Morkwa Constituency, Mr David T. Vondee, to engage the appropriate state institutions to facilitate the extension of electricity and improve telecommunications infrastructure in the community.
According to the residents, improved electricity and mobile network connectivity would boost local businesses, create employment opportunities for the youth, strengthen the delivery of essential public services and enhance the overall quality of life.
They expressed optimism that the Government would give urgent attention to their concerns to accelerate development in the community.
