Ghana’s Black Queens have dropped in both the global and African rankings, according to the latest FIFA release on Thursday, June 12.

The team slipped one spot in the global rankings, a reflection of their recent performances under new head coach Kim Lars Björkegren.

In March, the Black Queens were ranked 65th in the world and held the 5th position on the CAF continental list.

Since then, the team has played four matches, managing just one victory a friendly against Senegal while recording two defeats and one draw.

In FIFA’s latest update, the Black Queens have fallen to 66th in the global rankings with 1391.61 points and now sit 6th on the African table with the same points tally.

Meanwhile, the team is currently finalizing preparations for the rescheduled 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
