Residents of Twifo 34 in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District have praised the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Isaac Yawson, for what they describe as a renewed drive for development in the community.
The residents say the DCE’s interventions have brought fresh hope to the area, which has for years grappled with serious infrastructure challenges.
They identified the ongoing reconstruction of the Twifo 34 school building as one of the most significant projects initiated under Hon. Yawson’s leadership. The old school structure, they explained, had deteriorated to the extent that teaching and learning were frequently disrupted.
According to the residents, teachers were often compelled to hold classes in nearby churches due to safety concerns, while heavy rainfall regularly caused flooding in the classrooms, rendering them unusable.
The poor state of the facility, they noted, had also forced some parents to withdraw their children from the school, raising concerns that the institution could eventually be shut down.
Community members therefore expressed gratitude to the DCE for responding promptly to their concerns by initiating a new school project and appealed to him to ensure its timely completion.
In a related development, the Chief of Twifo 34, Nana Sogyie IV, has also commended Hon. Yawson for his commitment to the development of the community.
He acknowledged the DCE’s support through the provision of building materials, including stones, cement, iron rods, and sand, to facilitate the reconstruction of the school.
According to the chief, Hon. Yawson not only fulfilled his promise to mobilise resources for the project but also took steps to engage non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to support the reconstruction efforts an initiative that is now yielding visible results.
