Asante Kotoko claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Division One side Golden Kick SC in the final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup.

The match, played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, saw Opoku give the Porcupine Warriors an early lead in the first half. However, the resilient Golden Kick side who had impressed throughout the tournament found an equalizer in the second half.

Just as the game seemed destined for extra time, the referee awarded a penalty in the dying moments after an infringement in the Golden Kick penalty area.

With composure and precision, Opoku stepped up and converted from the spot, sealing the win for the Premier League giants.

The victory hands the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup trophy to head coach Abdul-Karim Zito and his team, and secures Ghana’s sole slot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
