Residents of Twifo Twansokoda in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District have lauded their Assembly Member, Hon. Daniel Afriyie, for sponsoring free registration onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for people in his electoral area.

For many households, access to healthcare had been a challenge due to expired or nonexistent NHIS cards, forcing several residents to pay cash for medical treatment and straining already limited family incomes. The intervention has therefore been warmly welcomed, enabling a large number of residents to secure valid NHIS cards and enjoy healthcare without financial pressure.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Afriyie explained that the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on his constituents whenever they sought medical care. He stressed that with renewed NHIS coverage, residents would no longer need to depend on him personally for medical support, allowing him to focus on other pressing developmental issues in the area.

He added that the exercise not only improved access to healthcare but also demonstrated his commitment to the welfare and well-being of the community.
