The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. Isaac Yawson, has called on the police to intensify enforcement of road safety regulations by clamping down on drivers who flout traffic laws.
Hon. Yawson expressed concern that practices such as overloading and overspeeding continue to endanger the lives of passengers and other road users. He warned that only firm action through arrests and prosecution can deter such dangerous behavior.
According to him, unchecked recklessness on the roads breeds impunity, often leading to preventable accidents, injuries, and destruction of property. He therefore urged the police to remain resolute in their duty to protect lives.
Touching on infrastructure, the DCE assured residents that government remains committed to improving the district’s road network. He explained that while some roads have already been constructed, additional works are ongoing to address those still in poor condition.
Hon. Yawson further advised drivers to exercise caution when using inner roads in Twifo Praso, especially in areas where speed ramps have been installed.
