The Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. T.D. Vondee, has revealed that more than 110 young people in the district have secured employment through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
He explained that the initiative reflects former President John Mahama’s commitment to tackling youth unemployment by creating job opportunities and equipping young people with practical skills to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Highlighting the government’s apprenticeship program, Hon. Vondee noted that over 50 youth in the district are currently benefiting from the scheme. Under this arrangement, apprentices and their masters receive financial support, which not only eases their burden but also motivates them to pursue excellence in their trades.
The MP made these remarks during the inauguration of the YEA youth recruitment exercise at Twifo Praso.
For his part, the YEA District Director, Pedra Arthur Richard, assured that the newly engaged beneficiaries have undergone adequate training and are ready to serve. He emphasized that the recruitment process was handled directly by YEA headquarters in Accra, ensuring fairness, transparency, and merit-based selection.
