Man Bites Off Wife’s Ear in Violent Attack at Dambai

A man identified as Emmanuel Addai has allegedly bitten off his wife’s ear during a violent confrontation at Wonkayaw, a community in Dambai Township, Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.

The victim, Madam Cecilia Fordjour, 46, said the incident happened shortly after her husband returned from a funeral. According to her, she was preparing to serve him food when he suddenly ordered her to leave the house.

The confrontation quickly escalated, and Addai allegedly assaulted her, biting off her ear in the process.

She was rushed to the KOPAH Clinic with the severed ear, but medical personnel confirmed that reattachment was impossible due to delays in seeking treatment.

The matter has since been reported to the Krachi East Police Command. Confirming the incident, ASP Al-hassan Abdul-Razak, Divisional Crime Officer at Dambai, said both the wife and the husband had lodged complaints the wife alleging assault, while the husband also claimed she attacked him. Medical forms were issued to both parties.

ASP Abdul-Razak stated that investigations will continue once the two are discharged from hospital, after which police will review medical reports and gather further evidence to establish the facts.
