Claims circulating on social media that Mr. Kennedy Agyapong and his supporters, popularly known as “Team Ken,” are planning to break away to form a new political party have been strongly denied.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the National Agenda programme on Denkyiraman Radio on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Hon. Benjamin Ayeh, a member of the Central Regional Campaign Team, said Mr. Agyapong remains committed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He disclosed that in the coming days, Team Ken would join forces with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to campaign across the region, urging party supporters to remain united and ignore what he described as unfounded social media speculation.
According to Hon. Ayeh, the claims are misleading and baseless, and are intended to create division within the party.
He reiterated that Mr. Agyapong’s focus is on strengthening the NPP ahead of upcoming political activities, and called for unity, cohesion and active engagement from all party members.
Supporters of Team Ken have also insisted that the former Assin Central Member of Parliament would continue to work in the interest of the NPP, urging the public to rely on official communication rather than rumours.
