A five-bedroom house in Kronum, Ashanti Region, has been completely destroyed by fire, leaving occupants with nothing.
Eyewitnesses say the fire broke out late at night and quickly spread, overwhelming attempts by neighbours to douse the flames. Fire personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service later arrived to bring the blaze under control.
No lives were lost, but properties worth thousands of cedis, including medicines stored in some rooms, were completely destroyed. Preliminary investigations point to a possible electrical fault as the cause of the fire.
Tenants confirmed the incident and expressed relief that no one was injured, while eyewitnesses described how they first noticed flames in one of the rooms and raised the alarm.
