The Madina District Court has officially dropped all charges against the suspect in the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, following instructions from the Attorney General’s Office.
Ahmed Suale, a prominent member of Tiger Eye P.I., was shot dead in January 2019 by unidentified gunmen, an incident that sparked national outrage and demands for justice. However, progress in resolving the case has been slow over the years.
The accused, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, had been facing charges of murder and abetment of murder. But at Tuesday’s hearing on October 14, 2025, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfoa Bamfo, told the court that the Attorney General had directed that the case be discontinued.
Acting on the prosecution’s notice, the presiding judge subsequently discharged the accused.
The court’s decision is likely to renew public concern over the government’s commitment to bringing Ahmed Suale’s killers to justice more than six years after his assassination, as the perpetrators remain at large.
