The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly is set to introduce Pragia operations in the Dunkwa township as part of measures to regulate commercial motorcycle activities and improve transportation within the municipality.

The move follows a decision by the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) to permit Pragia operations in Dunkwa.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Denkyiraman Radio, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr George Anane Coleman, said the decision was aimed at bringing sanity to commercial motorcycle operations within the municipality.

He said the introduction of Pragia operations would also mean that commercial motorcycle, popularly known as Okada, operations would be restricted to areas on the outskirts of the main Dunkwa township.

Mr Coleman said Okada operations would be limited to the Mfuom-Babiniha area, Kyekyewere Station and its outskirts, as well as Compound and surrounding areas.

He added that MUSEC would soon enforce the decision to stop Okada operations within the main Dunkwa township.

The MCE said the effective date for the implementation would be announced by MUSEC in due course.
