Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, have booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico, and the United States following a tense 1–0 triumph over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
Mohammed Kudus, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, delivered the decisive goal early in the second half, sealing Ghana’s qualification and ending Comoros’ recent upper hand after back-to-back defeats to the island nation.
The qualification marks Ghana’s fifth appearance on the world stage, their first coming in 2006.
In a notable return, defender Alidu Seidu featured in the starting lineup after recovering from a long-term ACL injury that kept him out of action for several months. His strong form at Stade Rennes earned him a well-deserved recall to the squad for this crucial encounter.
The victory rekindles national excitement and optimism as the Black Stars prepare to once again represent Ghana on football’s grandest platform in 2026.
