More than 400 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region have declared their support for Dr. Bryan Acheampong ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

At a press briefing in Agona Swedru, the groups Concerned NPP Delegates and Agona Youth for Victory said Dr. Acheampong embodies the leadership qualities needed to unite the party, maintain discipline, and secure victory in the 2028 general election.

Group leader Ebenezer Donkoh described him as a “transformational leader with a unifying vision,” stressing that internal cohesion will be critical for the NPP’s future. “We’re no longer in an era of divided loyalty. Dr. Acheampong has what it takes to bring the party together, not just to contest, but to win. His calm but firm leadership is what we need,” he said.

Some delegates admitted they had previously supported Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong but noted that the political climate has shifted. “Bryan Acheampong represents a fresh chapter,” one delegate remarked. “We need someone who won’t just campaign, but will unite, discipline, and carry the entire party machinery into 2028 with strength.”

The group urged NPP delegates across the country to carefully consider the type of leadership required at this stage not only to win primaries, but to build a stable and inclusive front for governance.

As internal campaigns gather pace, the Agona West endorsement highlights growing grassroots momentum behind Dr. Acheampong’s bid and signals a broader push for unity over rivalry within the party.
