A road accident at Wasa Abuorso in the Western Region has left six passengers seriously injured after a Sprinter Mercedes Benz bus collided with a Hyundai Grace passenger bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the Mercedes Benz bus, which was transporting vegetables from Kumasi to Bogoso and Wasa Akropong, attempted to overtake three vehicles but veered off its lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the Hyundai bus.
The injured passengers, all aboard the Hyundai, were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Their conditions are reported to be serious.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The incident underscores the risks associated with dangerous overtaking, especially by drivers of large or heavy-loaded vehicles. Authorities have emphasized the need for caution on the roads to prevent such accidents.
