President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to completing critical health infrastructure projects in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Jubilee House, President Mahama outlined his administration’s renewed focus on health and road infrastructure in the region.

He specifically pledged to complete the Sewua and Afari Military Hospitals, along with the long-delayed maternity and children’s blocks at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

These facilities, long overdue, have been the subject of persistent calls from health professionals and residents, who say their completion is essential to improving healthcare delivery in the region.

KATH serves a vast catchment area, extending across the middle and northern belts of the country. However, progress on the maternity and children’s blocks has been stalled for years due to underfunding, leading to overcrowding and limited service capacity.

Beyond the health sector, President Mahama also outlined plans to either continue or initiate key road projects across the Ashanti Region part of a broader effort to enhance public infrastructure and regional connectivity.

This renewed commitment, he noted, reflects his administration’s determination to address long-standing infrastructural gaps and improve the quality of life for Ghanaians.
