The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced a new scholarship initiative aimed at promoting advanced education among Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff.
The “Speaker’s Scholarship for Parliamentarians and Parliamentary Staff,” introduced by NiBS University, offers access to a range of graduate programs with substantial tuition discounts.
Programs covered under the scheme include a PhD in Business Administration ($7,599), Doctor of Business Leadership ($6,999), and Master’s degrees priced at $1,399.
The Speaker explained that the initiative is designed to foster lifelong learning, enhance policy research, and bridge the gap between academia and governance.
Members from both sides of the House have commended the initiative, describing it as a forward-thinking intervention that benefits both individual legislators and the broader parliamentary institution.
The scholarship was instituted in recognition of Speaker Bagbin’s inspirational leadership and unwavering commitment to democratic development in Ghana.
Encouraging participation, the Speaker urged MPs and staff to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications and gain innovation-driven leadership skills to better serve the nation.
