The Volta Regional Police have uncovered the decomposed remains of three individuals at shrines in Mafi Gblorkope, located in the Central Tongu Constituency.

Among the bodies was 28-year-old Nelson Anyinaa, who was reported missing in December 2024.

Following months of investigation, police arrested three suspects who confessed to murdering Nelson and selling his body for GH¢7,000 to a fetish priest and a priestess.

Led by the regional homicide team, the suspects guided officers to the shrines, where human bones believed to be Nelson’s were discovered, alongside the remains of two other unidentified individuals.

According to police, the victims’ bodies had been dismembered and buried separately beneath the shrines. All remains were exhumed under police supervision.

Authorities are now working to identify the other victims and establish the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
