The Municipal Director of Education for the Upper Denkyira East Municipality, Mr. Anthony Takyi, has commended basic and second cycle schools within the municipality for their impressive academic performance in recent national examinations.
According to him, basic schools in the municipality have recorded encouraging results in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), while second cycle institutions have also performed well in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Mr. Takyi made these remarks during the celebration of Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary held at the Dunkwa Mfuom Stadium.
He stated that the consistent improvement in examination results reflects the hard work and commitment of teachers, students, and school administrators across the municipality.
The Municipal Education Director further disclosed that the Education Directorate remains determined to sustain and improve the current performance levels in order to keep the municipality among the top ten performing districts in the Central Region.
Mr. Takyi emphasized that the Directorate will continue to implement strategies aimed at strengthening teaching and learning in schools within the municipality.
He also expressed confidence that with the continued support and cooperation from government, the Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, the Member of Parliament, political leaders, parents, and teachers, the municipality will achieve even greater academic success in the coming years.
Mr. Takyi therefore encouraged all stakeholders in the education sector to remain committed to supporting quality education for the benefit of children in the municipality.
