The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, Emelia Ankomah, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to construct a 24-hour economy market in the municipality.
She made the announcement during the 69th Ghana Independence Day celebration, noting that preparations for the project were far advanced.
The MP said a sod-cutting ceremony would soon be held at Dunkwa-On-Offin to commence construction of the market.
According to her, the project forms part of efforts to boost economic activities and create more opportunities for traders and residents in the municipality.
Ms Ankomah also announced that the Women’s Development Bank would be launched by the end of June across all sixteen regions of the country to support women entrepreneurs and small businesses.
She further assured residents that measures had been put in place to address the electricity challenges facing parts of the municipality.
