The former Member of Parliament for the Upper Denkyira East Constituency, Dr. Festus Awuah Kwofie, has donated 50 bags of cement towards the completion of a community center he initiated for the people of Barrier.
The donation forms part of his continuous commitment to community development and infrastructural support within the constituency.
Presenting the cement on his behalf was Hon. Edmund Johnson, former Assembly Member for the Compound Electoral Area. During the presentation, Hon. Johnson emphasized that Dr. Awuah Kwofie remains dedicated to the progress of Upper Denkyira East even after serving his term in Parliament.
He noted that the community center project was started by the former MP to provide a suitable venue for meetings, social gatherings, youth programs, and other important community activities.
According to him, the additional 50 bags of cement will help accelerate the completion of the community centre project he started and will benefit residents of Barrier and its surrounding communities.
Hon. Johnson further commended Dr. Awuah Kwofie for what he described as his numerous developmental projects across the constituency, stating that his continuous support demonstrates true leadership and love for his people.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the community, Nana Kwabena Danso, Barrierhene, expressed profound gratitude to the former Member of Parliament for the generous gesture. He indicated that the people of Barrier deeply appreciate the support and assured that the materials would be put to good use for the timely completion of the community center.
Nana Kwabena Danso also called on other stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the example of Dr. Awuah Kwofie by contributing to community development initiatives.
The community center, when completed, is expected to serve as an important hub for social interaction, community meetings, funerals, and development planning in Barrier.
