The Government of Ghana has reviewed the cocoa producer price upward to GHS3,625 per bag, equivalent to GHS58,000 per metric tonne.
The new price, which takes effect on Friday, October 3, 2025, represents an increase of GHS400 per bag a 12.27 percent rise over the rate announced in August.
Officials clarified that the existing margins, fees, and allocations for stakeholders across the cocoa value chain, including COCOBOD, remain unchanged.
In a statement, COCOBOD reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening farmer support programmes aimed at boosting yields and improving livelihoods. Measures will include the stepped-up distribution of free fertilizers (liquid and granular), insecticides, spraying machines, fungicides, and flower inducers.
The board also assured that plans to introduce a Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme for the children of cocoa farmers remain on course, with implementation set for the 2026/27 academic year.
