Residents of Agya Aryeekrom, a community near Daboase in the Wassa East District of the Western Region, have been left in shock after a palm wine tapper allegedly killed his employer during a fight over a missing tapping pipeline. The victim, 35-year-old Samuel Kwofie, also known as Kofi Ghana, lived with two brothers one visually impaired and the other with hearing and speech difficulties.
According to reports, Kwofie had employed the suspect, identified as Akuffo Addo, to help in his palm wine business for several years. Their working relationship was described as cordial until the recent dispute. Matters escalated when one of the pipelines used for tapping went missing and Kwofie accused the suspect of being responsible, threatening to report him to the police.
The confrontation allegedly turned violent, leading to the beheading of Kwofie. Police have begun investigations into the incident, while the farming community remains in shock and mourning.
