The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has issued a directive requiring that all mining and construction equipment be transferred to new owners within 14 days of sale.

Failure to comply, the Authority warns, may result in legal action and other sanctions.

“All dealers and owners of mining and construction equipment are encouraged to visit the nearest DVLA office to facilitate the transfer of ownership,” the statement read.

In a press release issued on June 17, 2025, the DVLA expressed concern over widespread non-compliance with ownership transfer regulations, noting that this poses both regulatory and operational challenges.

The Authority is urging all stakeholders to ensure prompt and proper registration of ownership changes, and reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the law and supporting effective oversight of Ghana’s transport and equipment systems.
