Adoagyiri-Nsawam Residents Demand Apology from Emeafa Hardcastle Over MP Confrontation

Residents of Adoagyiri-Nsawam in the Eastern Region are calling on Emeafa Hardcastle to issue a public apology to their Member of Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, following what they describe as offensive remarks. They insist that Hardcastle must take full responsibility for her words and make amends to the Minority Chief Whip.

The call for an apology follows a viral video showing a confrontation between Hardcastle and Annoh-Dompreh during a break in the Parliamentary Appointments Committee proceedings on January 28. In the footage, Hardcastle referred to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus as a “Micro-Minority,” a comment that led to a heated exchange with the MP. Many residents believe her remarks were disrespectful and are demanding a direct apology.

Although Hardcastle has since apologized to Parliament, the people of Adoagyiri-Nsawam, particularly the women in the community, insist that she must personally apologize to their MP and the constituency. They argue that beyond addressing Parliament, she must also show remorse to those who feel offended by her comments.

According to the residents, public officials must uphold professionalism and mutual respect when engaging with elected representatives. They emphasized that political discourse should be free from hostility, intimidation, and personal attacks, urging Hardcastle to set an example by offering a sincere and direct apology.
