Four individuals are feared dead after a boat carrying seven young men capsized on the Volta Lake. According to reports from Accra-based Starr FM, the boat was travelling from Agbega Porpornya to a neighbouring community in the Upper Manya Krobo district of the Eastern Region.
Of the seven passengers, three survived the incident, and two of them are currently receiving medical treatment at the Asesewa Government Hospital.
However, four individuals remain missing, and a search and recovery operation is underway to locate their remains. This operation is being led by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), with support from local volunteers.
This tragic incident underscores the ongoing dangers of the Volta Lake, where similar accidents have claimed many lives over the years.
