The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has requested nine years of financial and operational records from Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, a law firm at which Manhyia North Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, is a senior partner.

The request forms part of ongoing investigations into suspected criminal conspiracy, causing financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering and tax-related offences.

In a letter dated October 30, 2026, EOCO invoked Section 19 of the Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), to compel the firm to provide documents and information to assist its investigations.

The Office requested the firm’s audited financial statements for the period 2017 to 2025, together with evidence of tax payments made to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including corporate income tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), statutory levies and withholding tax.

EOCO also requested a list of all bank accounts operated by the firm and their corresponding statements covering the nine-year period.

Other documents requested include copies of the firm’s operating permit issued by the relevant local assembly, evidence of renewals and a list of its employees, if any.

The law firm has been directed to submit the requested documents and information to EOCO by November 6, 2026.

The request forms part of EOCO’s investigations into the suspected offences and does not, in itself, establish wrongdoing by the law firm or its partners.
