A health and wellness expert, Pastor Prince Kwasi Amoako, has encouraged Ghanaians to adopt what he describes as a “natural food cleanse” to improve overall health and wellbeing.
According to him, prioritising fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts over heavy cooked or fried meals can help the body function more efficiently. He explained that such a dietary approach allows the body to reset naturally.
Pastor Amoako suggested that individuals undertaking a natural cleanse could reduce or avoid fried foods and begin their mornings with citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons or pineapples.
He also urged individuals who are physically able to consider temporary dietary breaks or fasting as part of a detox process, but cautioned that such practices may not be suitable for everyone, particularly persons with existing health conditions.
Pastor Amoako made the remarks on Denkyiraman Radio’s National Agenda programme on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
He noted that many health challenges faced by people are linked to poor dietary habits and unhealthy lifestyles, stressing the need for healthier food choices and preventive measures.
While promoting natural eating, he further advised the public to reduce the intake of highly processed foods.
Health professionals generally recommend balanced diets, adequate hydration and consultation with qualified medical practitioners before making major dietary changes or engaging in fasting.
The discussion formed part of a broader conversation on nutrition, wellness and preventive healthcare.
