Assin South MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has raised concerns that Ghana is rapidly becoming a hub for cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

Speaking to the media, Fordjour criticized the government’s handling of recent investigations into illicit activities.

He described the government’s explanations regarding the entry and departure of two suspicious flights as “incoherent” and “questionable,” arguing that they lacked credibility.

Fordjour also questioned the government’s silence on the status of 12 containers filled with gold and foreign currencies, which were confiscated by National Security on February 9.

Additionally, he expressed concerns over the lack of transparency in the ongoing investigation into a $500 million cocaine bust.

The MP warned that if the government fails to address these issues, Ghana risks becoming a major center for illicit activities, potentially tarnishing its reputation on the global stage.
