A 20-year-old woman has died following a tragic shooting incident in Seker, a suburb of the Pru East District, on June 10.
The victim was allegedly shot by her boyfriend, Hayford Boateng, 31, during a visit to the village with him and two of his friends.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m., leaving the young woman with a gunshot wound to her left arm.
Police intercepted the vehicle as the group attempted to flee the scene. The victim was rushed to St. Martin’s Hospital in Yeji, where she was pronounced dead.
Hayford Boateng is currently in police custody, along with his two companions Kojo Emmanuel, 28, and Michael Kabutey, 34 who are being held to assist with the investigation.
The Yeji District Police Command says it is working diligently to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
