Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has reaffirmed his strong opposition to LGBTQ+ activities, insisting that such practices will neither be accepted nor legalized in Ghana.
During a recent visit to Uganda, Bagbin emphasized that Ghana’s cultural and moral values do not align with LGBTQ+ orientations, describing them as foreign impositions.
“You can be sure that the world they want to create and impose on us will not exist while we are alive. LGBT is not African, it is not natural, and God did not create it. This is an imposition that we must all resist,” he declared.
Debate over Ghana’s anti-LGBTQ+ bill is still ongoing. The bill lapsed after the Supreme Court failed to rule on its constitutionality before the end of the 8th Parliament.
