Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South, has been awarded GH₵700,000 in damages against Stephen Cobbah and Yaw Koranteng in a defamation case.

The Cape Coast High Court made the award on Monday, April 28, 2025, falling short of the GH₵1 million in damages the MP had initially sought.

The court found that statements made by the defendants on the Assinman Politics WhatsApp group were defamatory.

A perpetual injunction was also issued, prohibiting the defendants from making further defamatory statements against the MP.

Additionally, the court ordered the defendants to publish an unreserved apology and retract their statements on the WhatsApp group and other relevant platforms.
