82-Year-Old Opanyin Adusei Crowned Ghana’s 2025 National Best Farmer

82-year-old Opanyin Abraham Kwaku Adusei from the Eastern Region has been honoured as Ghana’s 2025 National Best Farmer, emerging the overall winner at the 41st National Farmers Day celebration held in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

Opanyin Adusei was selected from a distinguished pool of farmers across the country, earning the top honour for his decades of commitment, innovation, and exceptional productivity in agriculture. He received a cash prize in recognition of his immense contribution to the sector.

The first runner-up position went to 48-year-old Osman Kadiri from the Greater Accra Region, while 63-year-old Charles Gyato from the Oti Region was named second runner-up. Madam Grace Owusuaah was also celebrated as the 2025 National Best Female Farmer, with all award recipients receiving cash prizes for their remarkable achievements.

President John Dramani Mahama, who presented the awards, commended the farmers for their resilience, hard work, and pivotal role in Ghana’s development.

A grateful Opanyin Adusei expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and pledged to continue collaborating with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to advance farmer welfare and support the ongoing modernisation of the agricultural sector.
