One Dead, Two Injured in Assin North Motor Accident Involving NPP Delegates.

One of the victims involved in the tragic motor accident at Assin North on November 14, 2025, has sadly passed away.

The deceased, identified as Yahya, served as the Polling Station Chairman for the Assin Breku Ninkyiso Electoral Area. He died this morning at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he had been receiving advanced care after being referred from a local facility. Yahya suffered a traumatic leg amputation and had remained unconscious since the accident.

Meanwhile, the Assin North NPP Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Vilinke Mohammed, is still undergoing treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu after sustaining a severe head injury. He remains under close medical supervision.

A third victim, Kwaku Mensah, has also been transferred to another health facility for specialized treatment due to the extent of his injuries.

The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. at Assin Akonfudi while the three were on their way to a delegates’ meeting with NPP Presidential Aspirant Dr. Bryan Acheampong. Their motorbike was reportedly hit from behind by another speeding bike as they negotiated a curve, resulting in the crash and the critical injuries that followed.

In a show of solidarity, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, together with some NPP constituency executives, visited the victims at the hospital. He also donated GH¢20,000 to support their medical treatment.
