Residents of a compound in the Dunkwa-On-Offin municipality in the Central Region are gripped by fear following the mysterious death of a man known as Sofo Kofi, believed to be in his early 60s.
According to information gathered by Denkyiraman Radio, the deceased was the owner of a basic school, with his residence located within the school premises.
His lifeless body was discovered in the early hours of Thursday, May 22, 2025, by a student responsible for opening the classroom doors each morning. Shockingly, the body was found with a foamy mouth and a visibly broken neck.
The student, shaken by the discovery, raised an alarm, prompting nearby residents to rush to the scene only to confirm that Sofo Kofi was indeed dead.
Personnel from the Ambulance Service and the Dunkwa Police Department arrived shortly after to convey the body to the morgue.
Eyewitness accounts and residents’ suspicions have raised the possibility of foul play. Some claim to have observed knife wounds on the back of the deceased, along with a twisted neck suggesting a violent encounter.
Many are baffled by the incident, noting that Sofo Kofi appeared healthy and energetic the previous day, deepening the mystery surrounding his death.
The Dunkwa Police Department has assured the public that a full investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and bring clarity to the situation.
