Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has issued a formal warning to the acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, following a controversial incident in which he was seen handing out dollar notes to social media personality Nana Agradaa in a widely circulated video.
Mr. Gyamfi later apologized for what he described as an “unfortunate act of indiscretion” and was subsequently summoned by the Presidency to explain his actions.
According to government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the matter has been resolved, with the Presidency accepting the apology and deciding that no further disciplinary action is necessary.
However, the Chief of Staff cautioned Mr. Gyamfi to be more mindful of public sentiment and to conduct himself in a manner that reflects the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
“We understand Ghanaians expect a lot from us, and we’re committed to delivering good governance after years of poor leadership,” Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stated.
Mr. Gyamfi has pledged to align his future conduct with public expectations. The Presidency also used the occasion to emphasize the importance of upholding high ethical standards among public officials.
