Spare parts dealers at Kumasi Magazine have praised President John Mahama for recent improvements in the economy, citing the strengthening of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar and a reduction in fuel prices.
They also welcomed the cancellation of the betting tax, describing it as a positive step toward easing the financial burden on Ghanaians.
However, the dealers are calling on the government to ensure that the fuel price reduction translates into lower transport fares. They expressed concern that without enforcement, the cost relief may not reach the average citizen.
The Suame Magazine Spare Parts Dealers Association, which advocates for the interests of spare parts traders in the area, has long highlighted challenges such as high taxes and import duties.
Their latest statement reflects appreciation for policies that support their businesses and contribute to broader economic stability.
