The Electoral Commission (EC) released gazetted results on Friday, January 10, 2025, indicating that former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, actually received 41.75% of the total valid votes cast in the December 7, 2024, general election, contrary to claims that he polled 38.2%.
The eventual winner, President John Mahama, secured 56.42% of the valid votes. The remaining eleven candidates collectively received 1.83% of the valid votes in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to the certified results from the Electoral Commission of Ghana, a total of 11,931,420 out of 18,774,195 registered voters, representing 63.97%, participated in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
It is important to note that the gazetted results from the EC do not include the results from the Ablekuma North constituency, which has 121,269 registered voters. The results from Ablekuma North are yet to be gazetted by the EC.
