Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says his team is fully focused and determined to secure all three points when Ghana faces the Central African Republic (CAR) in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier today at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknès in Morocco.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Addo expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation and mentality.

“We’ve had two and a half very productive training sessions. The players are sharp, motivated, and fully aware of what’s at stake,” he said.

Ghana currently tops Group I with 19 points, holding a three-point lead over second-placed Madagascar and four points ahead of Comoros, whom the Black Stars will face in their final group match on October 12.

Coach Addo emphasized that discipline and focus will be key, noting that the team must build on the lessons from their narrow win over Chad.

When asked about the possibility of becoming the first Ghanaian coach to qualify the national team for two FIFA World Cups, Addo downplayed personal recognition, saying the team’s success matters more than individual accolades.

“This is about Ghana, not me. Victory is a must and we’re going for it.”
