The Electoral Commission (EC) will begin the nationwide distribution of ballot papers today, Thursday, November 14, in preparation for the upcoming elections on December 7.
In a letter dated November 13, the EC informed the General Secretaries of political parties about the distribution schedule.
The first phase of distribution starts in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, followed by the Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions on Friday, November 15.
On Saturday, November 16, ballot papers will be sent to the Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions.
This distribution is a key step in the EC’s month-long preparations, which have also included finalizing voter registration, allocating polling stations, and training election officers.
The ballot papers will be securely stored in police facilities within each region until Election Day, when they will be handed over to officials in the presence of party representatives to ensure transparency.
The EC has assured the public that strict security measures are in place to maintain the integrity of the electoral process and to prevent any alterations or unauthorized access.
