Atta K, a sensational draught player, defied all odds to win the 2026 Denkyiraman Damehene Draught Championship which ended on Saturday, March 14, at Dunkwa in the Central Region.
The competition was organised by Denkyiraman Radio 91.9 and sponsored by Kaysports Limited through its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kwame Owusu-Ameyaw, a keen fan of the board game.
The tournament, held at the Kyekyewere Station Draught Playing Centre, attracted a large gathering of draught enthusiasts who witnessed exciting contests.
Sixteen crack draught players competed in the special Kaysports-sponsored tournament, with Atta K emerging champion at the end of the competition.
In the grand finale, Atta K defeated Efo Sammy 2–0 to lift the giant trophy at stake.
The champion was presented with the trophy , cash prize and Kaysports-branded jerseys.
On his way to the title, Atta K defeated Osman 5–1 in the first round and Abe 5–0 in the second round.
In the semi-finals, Atta K faced stiff opposition from CJ, who put up a spirited performance before eventually losing 5–4, paving the way for Atta K to advance to the final.
Efo Sammy, on his part, defeated Neymar 5–3 in the first round and Abu Alhassan 5–1 to progress to the semi-finals.
He later beat Francis 5–3 to reach the final but lost to Atta K in the championship match.
In the third-place contest, CJ defeated Francis, also known as Ahuba, 3–1 to claim the third position.
