Reports indicate that the accident occurred around 0200 hours while the King was returning to Accra from Tamale in the Northern Region, where he had paid a private visit to the Yaa Naa.
The visit formed part of ongoing engagements among traditional authorities aimed at strengthening unity and reinforcing bonds of mutual respect.
Sources close to the palace said the Ga Mantse was in stable condition and remained in good spirits after the incident.
However, the sources said the driver of the King sustained critical injuries and had been rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Details of the accident are yet to be officially confirmed by the relevant authorities.
