All is set for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries in the Upper Denkyira East Constituency of the Central Region.

The Electoral Officer for the constituency, Mr. Rudolph Chireh, told the Ghana News Agency in an exclusive interview that a total of 839 delegates are expected to cast their ballots on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Atechem Police Station.

Mr. Chireh cautioned delegates against wearing or displaying paraphernalia associated with any of the presidential aspirants, stressing that the process must be conducted in a free and fair manner.

He said members of the media would be duly accredited to cover the exercise.

On security arrangements, the Upper Denkyira East Municipal Police Commander, DSP Simon Boavo, assured that the Ghana Police Service was fully prepared to ensure a peaceful and orderly process.

According to him, not fewer than 70 police officers will be deployed to provide security throughout the voting period.

DSP Boavo warned delegates against taking photographs of their ballots, noting that such acts are prohibited by law.

He further stated that the police would not tolerate the presence of macho men or private security operatives at the venue, emphasizing that only the Ghana Police Service is mandated to provide security for the exercise.

He also cautioned members of the public against bringing firearms or offensive weapons to the polling centre and assured that no eligible delegate would be prevented from exercising their right to vote.
