A 41-year-old man, Wahibu Bukari, who made national headlines in August after allegedly shooting his wife over suspicions of infidelity, has been found dead in what is suspected to be a suicide at Assin Anum in the Assin North District of the Central Region.

According to sources, Bukari left his home quietly earlier in the day without informing any family member. His eldest son returned from school at about 4:00 p.m. and reportedly heard an unusual sound coming from one of the rooms in the house.

Upon entering the room, the boy found his father lying motionless, with foam suspected to be from a poisonous substance oozing from his mouth. The room was said to be in disarray.

He immediately raised alarm, prompting neighbours to rush in. Community elders were subsequently alerted, and Bukari was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Although the exact circumstances surrounding the suspected suicide remain unclear, some residents believe Bukari may have been battling a health condition that could have affected his mental and emotional well-being. Police investigations are expected to establish the cause of death.
