The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released an Impact-Based Weather Alert for Sunday, October 12, 2025, warning of an approaching severe rainstorm moving westward from Nigeria and Benin.
According to the agency, the storm is expected to bring intense thunderstorms and rainfall of varying strength across affected areas, posing a High Impact (E) risk level that calls for immediate public caution and preparedness.
The advisory, released at 0000 UTC and effective from 0130 UTC on Sunday, indicates a strong likelihood of flooding in low-lying communities across the country.
GMet further cautioned that the storm will be accompanied by moderate to strong winds, which could intensify the impact and cause additional damage or disruptions.
